Trump attacks media after reports of Cohen deal with AT&T

AT&T CEO calls hiring Michael Cohen for advice on Trump ‘big mistake

AT&T Chief Calls Hiring Michael Cohen as Consultant a 'Big Mistake'

AT&T Inc on Friday (May 11) ousted its top lobbyist, and the No. 2 wireless carrier's chief executive said it was a "big mistake" to hire Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump's personal attorney, for advice on working with the Trump administration.

"Our company has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons these last few days, and our reputation has been damaged", Stephenson wrote in a memo to employees.

"There is certainly plenty AT&T would like to get out of the Trump administration", noted the far-left media outlet Vox, adding that AT&T is now attempting to get a $85 billion merger with Time Warner approved through the Trump administration.

Trump's new lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, admitted to Fox News' Sean Hannity (who is also a client of Michael Cohen) that the president repaid the $130,000 to Cohen, which directly contradicted statements from both Trump and Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

"Why doesn't the Fake News Media state that the Trump Administration's Anti-Trust Division has been, and is, opposed to the AT&T purchase of Time Warner in a now ongoing Trial".

Vegas almost added to the lead when Smith had a shot at open net that San Jose forward Chris Tierney blocked from the crease. As the series dragged on against Vegas, the Golden Knights keened in on the Sharks' strengths, taking away any threats.

Murray's letter calls the company's contract with Cohen an attempt to develop "unvetted and unproductive relationships to try to sway government officials in its favor". But the fact is, our past association with Cohen was a serious misjudgment.

"We made a mistake in entering into this engagement and, as a effect, are being criticized by a world that expects more from us", Novartis CEO Vasant Narasimhan said in a memo to employees.

Bennett said in a brief interview that he never spoke or dealt with AT&T, though he said a former Avenue Strategies employee may have spoken with them.

Cohen's deals with AT&T and other corporate clients were first revealed this week by an attorney for adult film actress Stormy Daniels, but the new documents obtained by The Post offered greater detail about his arrangement with the telecom company and the type of work he had been hired to perform. One of the company's big issues is its $85 billion buy of Time Warner, which it desperately wants to go through.

At the time that AT&T engaged Cohen, it wasn't aware of "the current controversy surrounding Cohen", AT&T said.

Severe Storm Watch: Gusty wind, hail possible Thursday in Northern Virginia
Thursday's storm potential will be followed by warm, clear weather through the weekend, according to the weather service forecast. A weather service hourly graph shows no rain for Kansas City, Kansas, on Friday night, with rain possible starting at 7 p.m.

AT&T's vast lobbying team, which includes more than 100 people, and public policy staff will now report to the company's general counsel, David McAtee.

The office of Robert Mueller, special counsel in the Russian Federation probe, asked Ford about the matter a year ago and it was unclear if it had made any recent inquiries, the person said. "Quinn stepping down is not going to cripple AT&T", said Feld. Novartis said it had cooperated fully and considers its role in the matter closed.

"The conversation focused on how AT&T can work with the Trump administration to increase investment in the US, stimulate job creation in America, and make American companies more competitive globally", the company said. Trump has been vocal in his disdain for CNN's coverage of his administration. Months earlier, Trump had come out strongly against the proposed merger with Time Warner, which owns CNN - a network he often berates as "fake news".

Giuliani is likewise a former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of NY, which is the office now exploring Cohen's business dealings.

The judge in the case is expected to issue a ruling by or on June 12.
