Former Arizona center Deandre Ayton is hoping to be the first overall pick in the 2018 National Basketball Association draft on June 21, especially after the Phoenix Suns won the No. 1 selection in Tuesday's lottery. The Sacramento Kings got the second pick and the Atlanta Hawks will pick third.

ESPN analyst Jay Bilas said it's "not a no-brainer" that the Suns will take Ayton.

There are two clear choices for the Suns - both of which would fill a glaring need.

While the top of the lottery is absolutely stacked with above-average frontcourt defenders like Texas center Mo Bamba, Michigan State freshman Jaren Jackson, and Arizona by way of the Bahamas Deandre Ayton, there should be plenty of promising wing players available at 10 to Ben Simmons, Dario Saric, Robert Covington, and Joel Embiid moving forward.

There were no other surprises, as the picks at the bottom of the lottery went as anticipated.

About the pick: The Hawks, in the lottery for the first time since 2007, could go in so many directions. Or the pick could've fell to the Boston Celtics at picks 2 through 5 (2.9%). Since it didn't move up, it stayed with Philadelphia. The Charlotte Hornets hold the No. 11 pick, and the Los Angeles Clippers will pick back-to-back at Nos.

The rest of the draft order has already been determined by worst to best record among playoff teams, with the Washington Wizards holding the No. 15 pick.
