Trump announced via his Twitter feed Thursday that he'll be issuing a "Full Pardon" to Dinesh D'Souza, a political pundit and conservative provocateur who pleaded guilty to federal campaign finance law violations in 2014.

Trump later told reporters aboard Air Force One that he wasn't finished - he is also considering pardoning chef Martha Stewart and ex-Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

What do those three people have in common? The case was prosecuted in the Southern District of NY, where the U.S. Attorney at the time was Preet Bharara, who Trump fired soon after becoming president. He was sentenced to five years of probation, including eight months of supervised stay at a halfway house, and fined $30,000 (Rs 20.22 lakh), reported CNN.

It was not immediately clear who she was referring to, though CNN has previously reported that Blagojevich's conviction has ties to former FBI Director James Comey, who the President abruptly fired past year.

Blagojevich is now almost halfway through serving his 14-year sentence after being found guilty of 18 felony charges, including wire fraud, extortion, bribery and conspiracy. Fitzgerald, named special counsel by Comey to investigate the unauthorized leak of the identity of an undercover Central Intelligence Agency agent, also won the conviction of Libby, a top aide to then-Vice President Dick Cheney, for obstruction of justice and perjury in that case in 2007. Fitzgerald, in yet another twist, was appointed as special prosecutor by none other than James Comey.

Both had connections to Trump's "Celebrity Apprentice" TV show: Blagojevich was a contestant in 2010 and Stewart hosted a 2005 spinoff, "The Apprentice: Martha Stewart". In a new video, released this week, Mr. D'Souza ripped apart "the false narrative that Democrats are the "anti-fascist" party". "The career prosecutors and agents did their job", he said.

Trump also said he is considering commuting the sentence of former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, a Democrat who tried to sell President Barack Obama's former US senate seat.

"Mr. D'Souza accepted responsibility for his actions", it said.

But, his National Basketball Association finals-best 51 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists weren't enough to beat the Warriors. I don't know what JR was thinking. "I knew we were tied I just thought we were going to call timeout after the rebound".

D'Souza, who is a conservative filmmaker and political commentator, pleaded guilty in 2014 to using straw donors to illegal contribute money to a Senate campaign for his friend Wendy Long.

"Plenty of other politicians have said a lot worse", Trump said.

In August 2017, he pardoned Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who had been convicted of criminal contempt of court. Fact-checkers said D'Souza's film 2016: Obama's America was full of distortions.

Most recently, he apologized for a tweet taunting survivors of the shooting in Parkland, Fla., after Florida lawmakers opted not to ban assault weapons. He said, 'Dinesh, you've been a great voice for freedom, ' and he said, 'I've got to tell you man-to-man you've been screwed. In another tweet, he wrote "Adults 1, kids 0". D'Souza eventually discarded his more classically liberal conservatism for a caustic and conspiratorial strain of rhetoric. Scott, who is running for U.S. Senate, has not yet said if he will attend.
