‘First Man’ trailer gives one giant first look at Ryan Gosling as Neil Armstrong

Fans received their first look at the clip during Friday night's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! The biopic will be set between 1961 and 1969, depicting the years leading up to NASA's Apollo 11 mission.

Ryan Gosling takes on First Man, based on the book First Man: The Life of Neil A. Armstrong by author James R. Hansen, which was published by Simon & Schuster in 2005. We then get a glimpse at several key moments in Armstrong's life as he prepares to become the first human being ever to set foot on the moon. However, on viewing the trailer [VIDEO] of "First Man", it is clear that Armstrong went through some terrifying and uncertain days, training for his mission to the moon. In a heartbreaking scene, his son asks Armstrong if he will be coming back, to which he replies that there were risks, but that they have every intention of returning. Corey Stoll plays Buzz Aldrin, with Kyle Chandler as Deke Slayton, Jason Clarke as Ed White, and Pablo Schreiber as Jim Lovell.
