First Lady Pays Surprise Visit to Migrant Children at Texas Detention Shelter

US first lady Melania Trump climbs into her motorcade vehicle wearing a Zara design jacket with the phrase "I Really Don't Care".

All of the pundits for the major news outlets like MSNBC, CNN and Fox News all seemed perplexed by the $39 military jacket from Zara, with "I REALLY DON'T CARE, DO U?" written on the back.

Tony European labels have been more Mrs. Trump's de rigueur, until Thursday's trip to a Texas center housing some of the more than 2,300 migrant children sent there after their families entered the US illegally.

No one's gonna argue with her decision to make the trip, but her wardrobe selection's a whole other story.

US First Lady Melania Trump is known for her chic and stylish fashion choices. It's hard to imagine Melania thought this deeply about her style choice when she threw on that ill-advised jacket.

As expected, that's behind the $18.5 million earned in previews by Jurassic World (2015) but is still a good number on its own. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news about Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom's Thursday box office tally.

The easy, knee-jerk interpretation is that she doesn't care in the slightest about the kidnapped children she's on her way to meet with.

Third-graders welcomed the first lady with a large paper American flag they'd signed taped to a wall. However, after the separation of children from parents and legal guardians who crossed the U.S. -Mexico border illegally earned widespread and bipartisan condemnation, Trump issued an executive order halting his administration's practice.

The Trump administration previously had not said whether any hundreds of children who were separated from their families had been reunited.

Theresa May breaks silence on child migrants saying Trump is 'wrong'
The Trump administration has been the target of a growing chorus of criticism as images of migrant children in cages inside U.S. May had come under pressure from opposition MPs for her perceived silence in response to reports coming out of the US.

No sooner had the jacket become the center of focus than headlines started pouring in, slamming the first lady. After Trump's executive order, a host of unanswered questions remained, including what will happen to the children already separated from their parents and where the government will house all the newly detained migrants, with the system already bursting at the seams.

Melania, during a meeting with officials, asked how often the children speak to their families by telephone, how they are emotionally cared for on arrival and on average how long they stay at the facility before being placed elsewhere.

Sitting with officials at a center in McAllen, Texas, she said: 'How can I help these families reunite with their children as quickly as possible?'

"I like to dream that Melania chooses her ensembles just to piss off liberals", reads one representative tweet following the stiletto backlash.
