Apple, Samsung settle seven-year legal battle over design patent infringement

Apple and Samsung settle their patent dispute after 7 years of legal battles

The Apple vs Samsung iPhone-copying lawsuit is finally over

Samsung and Apple have been at each other's throats for over seven years due to patent infringements, but on June 27, 2018, it was revealed that the two companies had finally reached a settlement. Documents filed with the Northern District Court of California this morning indicate that both parties have agreed to drop and settle the remaining claims and counter claims in their legal battle.

The Court filing also states that the "remaining claims and counterclaims in this action are hereby dismissed with prejudice", and another case can not be filed on the same claim. According to sources, Samsung will be required to pay Apple under the new settlement, though how much Samsung would have to fork out was not immediately disclosed.

Apple and Samsung have declined to comment on today's settlement, but Apple pointed reporters to a statement made in May when the case was last ruled on. Terms of the settlement were not given.

Nigeria can advance with a draw as long as they stay ahead in goal differential if Iceland beats Croatia. She said: "I did not go because I have very young children and because it was scheduled like this".

"Dang! I figured the kids I've been raising since this thing started would have time to grow up, go to law school and work on this case someday."

In the latest trial, Apple has the burden of proof to prove that Samsung should pay the full $1 billion in damages.

Samsung's lawyers appealed the case, bringing down the compensation of $1 billion to $400 million in 2015 at the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
