Satirist Sacha Baron Cohen is up to something

New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman on Thursday tweeted a statement from Davis saying he has spoken to Cohen "many times in the last two weeks" and that he "recognized his sincerity" in an ABC News interview that aired earlier this week. "Learn about being amusing".

He posted a video to his Twitter account featuring the American flag and highlights from one of the President's old videos from 2012, in which he laid into the actor behind comedy characters Ali G and Borat.

Trump orders flags to half-staff for newsroom shooting after initial rejection
The Republican governor's order says the action was in "accordance" with an order issued by President Donald Trump . Larry Hogan (R) has also ordered state flags flown at half-mast.

The clip, which is slightly doctored to include a superimposition of Baron Cohen's face, also implies that Baron Cohen may have followed Trump's advice, so to speak. Text in the video said, "He's back as you've never seen him before". You don't know shit. Then, the video transitions to a Trump University logo.

Baron Cohen is now shooting the Netflix series The Spy, where he plays real-life agent Eli Cohen, a spy for Israel in Syria in the early 1960s. It's unclear if the teased Trump-related project is that same film.

Trump to discuss Syria, Ukraine with Putin
Trump later tweeted, "My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families". Trump denies any collusion and has called the probe a "witch hunt".

The comedian trolled Trump on Twitter with an Independence Day message on Wednesday and teased his latest project, which apparently has something to do with the president's failed college, Trump University. In the classic scene, Ali G tries to sell the surly businessman on the idea of "ice cream gloves" - an incident that Trump denies he was fooled by, though the clip suggests otherwise.

Cohen became famous in the late '90s with his character Ali G, who would appear on various programs and eventually became the star of Da Ali G Show.

Amazon Prime Day Announced
This year's Amazon Prime Day kicks off July 16 at 12PM PT (3PM ET) and will last through 12AM PT on July 17 (3AM ET on July 18). While Twitch Prime gives away free games every month, the service is offering a staggering 21 games during the month of July.

Cohen also gave Trump (and Daniel Radcliffe) AIDS in an admittedly pretty low-brow gag in the movie The Brothers Grimsby, with Sony, the movie's producers insisting on a disclaimer at the end of the film.
