Don Lemon Claps Back After Trump Attack: 'Who's the Real Dummy?'

Donald Trump takes shot at LeBron James

NBA: Trump shoots at LeBron

The interview that Donald is referring to took place after LeBron's foundation, the LeBron James Family Foundation, and the Akron Ohio Public Schools launched a new elementary school for at-risk children on July 30.

LeBron James is leaving home again and leaving behind something he says is more meaningful than any of his National Basketball Association championships.

LeBron James was interviewed by CNN's Don Lemon on Monday, and that interview re-aired Friday night, per CNN.

Others have pointed out that Trump's tweet, by comparing James to "Mike" - that is, Michael Jordan - had racial overtones.

During the interview, James and Lemon toured the school and discussed sports, politics and race relations.

"Who's the real dummy?" As Trump himself announced just hours later, he will be campaigning Saturday night on behalf of Troy Balderson, the Republican candidate in a closely-fought special election for the House seat representing Ohio's 12th Congressional district.

It is not clear who Trump meant when he said "I like Mike!"

In an interview with CNN, James said he thought the president had used sports to "divide" the United States, adding it was something he "can't relate to".

The White House did not immediately respond to a request to clarify Trump's remarks.

These past few days, Bron Bron has geeked out over opening up his Akron I Promise school. Lemon tweeted. "A man who puts kids in classrooms or one who puts kids in cages?"

Flashing the trademark smile that has routinely graced magazine covers and commercial shoots since he was a junior in high school, James laughed at learning how much earlier his youthful "white friends" ate dinner and went to bed, and noted his surprise at seeing food stored in a pantry. "Sports has never been something that divides people", LeBron, who recently signed with the Los Angeles Lakers, explained in the interview. "I don't want my future kids growing up in a world where two Black men, accomplished in their field, are called dumb because they disagree with your views". "I believe there's someone else out there". "We hope you both saw the incredible work of [LeBron James]".
