First lady Melania Trump stepped away from her husband's criticism of National Basketball Association star LeBron James to compliment his work on behalf of children and even offer to visit his school for at-risk children.

During the the interview, James addressed President Donald Trump, who James believes is using sports to divide the country.

The origin of the controversy was a weird tweet from Trump that labeled CNN's Dom Lemon the "dumbest man on television" after his interview with James.

The CNN interview aired on Monday, after James opened his school for disadvantaged children in his hometown of Akron, Ohio.

"I can't sit back and say nothing", James said in his interview with Lemon. "But I think the president in charge now has given people - they don't care now, they throw it to your face", he said.

During the said interview, LeBron did say his opinion on Trump, and it looks like the leader of the free world didn't like that.

Their history includes trading barbs when Trump revoked an invitation to the White House for the Warriors.

"The most important thing we can give them is structure".
