Hurricane Florence: NASA satellite footage shows 'MAJOR hurricane' as it approaches US

Isaac becomes 3rd hurricane sweeping through Atlantic

Hurricane Florence is currently the only hurricane of the three forecast to have an impact on the U.S

Forecasters said that once the storm makes landfall, Florence is anticipated to move inland, but may quickly stall, bringing heavy rains to parts of the southeast. The rapidly growing hurricane-currently circling Bermuda-is expected to make contact with the East Coast early Thursday morning, predicted Wes Hohenstein, chief meteorologist at CBS 17.

Hurricane Florence is now forecast to make landfall as a major hurricane near the North Carolina-South Carolina border area between Charleston and Cape Hatteras, N.C., late Thursday.

The U.S. Navy is also taking precautions, with the U.S. Fleet Forces Command ordering almost 30 ships in the Hampton Roads area of the Virginia coast to head out to sea to avoid the storm.

"We are in the bull's-eye", North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper told a news conference.

The governors of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia on Sunday declared states of emergency, as residents and local governments alike braced for Florence's wrath. "Somewhere along the Carolinas will see a surge, we just don't know where yet", he said.

Some officials have already begun taking early precautions.

"Traffic was backed up for about 9 miles (14 km) in places", said Paul Jones, a retiree who owns a vacation home on Hatteras Island. Effects from the hurricane will occur outside that cone, he said, predicting some effects will be felt more than 100 miles from the storm's center.

As for a hit on the USA mainland, the most recent Cat 4 at landfall was Hurricane Harvey past year, which hit Texas with winds of 130 miles per hour.

Over the next 36 hours, Florence's winds could reach 150 mph, the hurricane center says.

So far, mandatory evacuation orders have been issued for residents and visitors in some coastal areas of the state, while other counties only issued them for those in low lying and "flood prone" areas.

"It's scary to all of us".

"We are not going to restrict people's movements within the county until lane reversals are necessary, if they become necessary", said Sheriff's Office spokesperson Capt.

Delhi charges a Value-Added Tax of 27% on petrol and 17.24% on diesel while Mumbai has a maximum Value-Added Tax of % on petrol. Current price levels, where petrol has breached the Rs 80 per litre mark in many states, are due to a combination of factors.

On North Carolina's Outer Banks, Dawn Farrow Taylor, 50, was gathering photos and important documents and filling prescriptions Monday before heading inland. It said about 750 military personnel would be designated to provide support.

The Navy has a tracking map for tropical storms too.

Other military personnel, however, could find themselves directly in harm's way.

While Florence is forecast to stay north of Florida, large swells will impact the east coast of our state resulting in life-threatening surf and rip currents.

The National Hurricane Center said Monday that Hurricane Florence is now a Category 4 storm and continuing to intensify.
