Who Is Ashley Kavanaugh? Wife of Supreme Court Pick Standing by Her Man Amid Tumultuous Hearings

Americans were glued to their television sets Thursday as the historic hearing opened with an emotionally chocked Christine Blasey Ford, 51, recounting the 36 years old incident which "drastically altered her life".

In another statement, Patrick J. Smyth, identified by Ford as being among those downstairs at the party, says "I have no knowledge of the party in question; nor do I have any knowledge of the allegations of improper conduct she has leveled against Brett Kavanaugh'". She first used science to describe how she was certain that Kavanaugh was the boy who sexually assaulted her.

Judge Kavanaugh showed America exactly why I nominated him.

After Donald Trump nominated Brett Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court, the American Bar Association does what it almost always does: it offered its assessment of the jurist's professional qualifications.

The White House confirmed that Trump watched the testimony aboard Air Force One as he returned to Washington from NY.

"Democrats' search and destroy strategy is disgraceful and this process has been a total sham and effort to delay, obstruct, and resist", Trump wrote.

But Israel sees the stakes as too high to accept severe limitations on its actions against Iran and Hezbollah in Syria, some analysts said.

The Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to vote Friday on Kavanaugh's nomination.

"As a recovering alcoholic and a cancer survivor, I have struggled with depression and anxiety", his letter said.

"This confirmation process has become a national disgrace".

Testifying in the afternoon after Ford, Kavanaugh vehemently denied the allegations.

Kavanaugh himself touted that rating at Thursday's emotionally-charged hearing where he denied Ford's sworn testimony that he attempted to rape her when they were teenagers.

After he took his stance, Republican leaders had little choice but to slow their rush to confirm Kavanaugh, whom they had hoped to have in place shortly after the new court term begins Monday. "She's been harassed", the ranking senator said.

She attempts to speak Arabic and tells them they are ruining Arabic culture before trying to grab the hand of one of the boys. I'll buy you a room. "You're taking these children, and they want to go", she said, in heavily accented English.

After pressing Kavanaugh on the Federal Bureau of Investigation question, Harris switched gears to land a punch, getting the judge to admit he had not actually listened to Ford's testimony earlier in the day.

On his way to the committee vote on Kavanaugh's nomination, Flake was confronted by a woman who said she was the victim of sexual assault. Kavanaugh said he "never assaulted anyone".

But Democrats said Mr Kavanaugh's three-and-a-half-hour appearance before the Senate Judiciary Committee raised more questions than it answered. "Look at me and tell me that it doesn't matter what happened". While repeatedly saying he bore Ford "no ill will" and did not question that she may have indeed been sexually assaulted by someone, Kavanaugh insisted it had not been him.

Democrats have rallied strongly behind Ms Ford. Some commentators were baffled by what points she was trying to make, such as establishing Ford's fear of flying.

She said a drunken Kavanaugh and a friend of his, Mark Judge, pushed her into a bedroom, that Kavanaugh pinned her down and muffled her cries as he tried to pull off her clothes. I am called "evil" by a Democratic member of this committee...

In 1991, there was also no #MeToo movement, the vast cultural and legal reckoning of the past year on the issue of sexual misconduct that has toppled several powerful men in media, entertainment and business - and even the onetime federal appeals court judge Alex Kozinski, who Kavanaugh clerked for early in the 1990s. "And it would be hard to justify - these allegations are coming up about him, but not other people - how do they justify putting him in such an important role?" Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), who read from the ABA's endorsement of Kavanaugh, and who described the American Bar Association as "the gold standard". But he reiterated he still believes Kavanaugh's nomination will ultimately be successful and said that he had not even thought about a new nominee if the vote on Kavanaugh fails. "They lay this past the midterms so that they can win the Senate and never allow Trump to fill the seat".
