Erdogan, Trump hold phone conversation on Khashoggi

In an interview with Washington Post published late Saturday, Trump stepped back from his stance that Saudi Arabia's latest explanation for the death of the journalist inside their Istanbul consulate was credible, but said he remained confident in the leadership of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said on Sunday that the Monarch, Salman bin Abdulaziz, and his son, Mohammed bin Salman, telephoned Salah Jamal Khashoggi to express their condolences, reports Efe news.

Salah expressed his honest thanks to King Salman and Crown Prince for their condolences, according to SPA.

In that interview, al-Jubeir described the death of Khashoggi as "a grave mistake" and said that those responsible will be held to account.

Real Madrid 1-2 Levante: Lopetegui may not last the weekend
Real Madrid reached the worst scoring drought in its history in a 2-1 home loss to Levante in the Spanish league on Saturday . At half-time, there were a scattering of white handkerchiefs - the traditional expression of discontent - but more whistles.

"There remains an urgent need for clarification of exactly what happened on October 2nd - beyond the hypotheses that have been raised so far in the Saudi investigation, which need to be backed by facts to be considered credible", the statement said.

That explanation will face a fresh challenge on Tuesday when Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is expected to reveal details of his government's investigation into the killing of Khashoggi, a move that could directly contradict Saudi Arabia's official account of what happened inside its consulate.

Although Turkey has so far stopped short of officially blaming Saudi Arabia for the killing, investigators have said they have audio and video evidence which shows Mr Khashoggi, was killed by a team of Saudi agents inside the consulate. "I don't think we need the Saudis".

In a statement on Saturday, The Washington Post's publisher and chief executive, Fred Ryan, accused Saudi Arabia of repeatedly lying in the three weeks since Mr. Khashoggi's disappearance.

Red Sox finish off Astros in Game 5, head to World Series
This year's ALCS changed the script as the 28-year-old's bat ultimately carried this team with clutch hits to swing the series. The same can't be said for McCullers, a right-hander who started and pitched in relief for the Astros this season.

The Saudis, who initially denied that Khashoggi was killed in the consulate, have changed their statement a couple of times in the past few weeks.

"If Saudi state involvement is indeed proven, the global community must stand firm in its stated resolve to insist on the highest level of investigation and punishment for those responsible - both for the perpetrators of this horrendous crime and the masterminds who ordered it".

Trump has repeatedly said over the last week that he opposes any effort to impede more than $100 billion in US arms sales to Saudi Arabia, but that he would consider sanctions on the kingdom. Saudi Arabia is a country and MBS is a person.

A security guard stands outside Saudi Arabia's consulate in Istanbul on Saturday. He initially said he believed the Saudi account.

Riyadh has said Khashoggi died in its Istanbul consulate after a fistfight, but many of America's Western allies are not convinced. "And I think we're inching our way there".
