Opener Rohit Sharma and skipper Virat Kohli scored blistering centuries to help India thrash the West Indies by eight wickets in the first One-Day International match here on Sunday.

The century helped Kohli become the fastest batsman to 60 worldwide tons and took him within touching distance of the 10000-run mark in ODIs as well.

The century was the 29-year-old's 20th in successful chases, moving him further away from fellow Indian great Sachin Tendulkar's 14, and it was his eighth while chasing at least 300 runs. Whenever he gets there, Kohli will be the fastest to do so and again beat Tendulkar to the record.
