Geri Horner (Ginger Spice), and Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice) announced six United Kingdom stadium dates in June next year via a post on the group's Instagram page.

In a video shared on the band's newly-created Twitter account, the four remaining members staged a mock news broadcast to confirm the tour, featuring them starting to sing one of their old songs.

Victoria Beckham was absent from the clip.

Though the group will unveil United Kingdom tour dates in a few hours time, Mel admitted they are hoping to take the shows global.

Although Beckham won't be joining the tour, she is still set to make a healthy profit from the proceeds. This tour will be without Victoria Beckham, aka Posh Spice, who has focused on her fashion design and modeling career since the Spice Girls split in 2000.

Speaking on UK TV show "Loose Women", she said: "It's just the four of us, but she might join us at some point. I hope so. It would be a shame if she didn't".

Beckham, who now runs a successful eponymous fashion empire, told the US TODAYshow past year that she still gets on great with the girls, even as she has decided not to take the stage again.

Asked if they are heading back on tour, she said: "Yeah we are".

Horner added: "I am so excited, together we celebrate girl power with our fans and the next generation and everyone is welcome! I'm p*****g my trousers with excitement", another chipped in, while a third added: "I reckon you should recreate said photoshoot".

In July, Brown confirmed they would reunite this year, but said that one member of the group had been holding up proceedings.
