More than 1,700 flights were canceled, majority at Charlotte Douglas International Airport. South Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee also had outages reported Monday.

Authorities reported hundreds of spinouts and collisions across the region as snow, sleet and freezing rain covered roadways across the region on Sunday.

Airlines canceled more than 1,000 flights and police have responded to hundreds of weather-related traffic accidents since the storm hit over the weekend.

More than 82,000 were without power in SC, while a total of about 75,000 outages were reported across Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi.

Winter weather advisories are still in effect this morning for much of the Southeast. On Monday, Governor Roy Cooper shared that two people were killed in a snow storm. "Don't be fooled, this storm is treacherous".

The official, however, emphasized that people in this area of Iran stand firmly united, and will foil all enemy plots. An official said that "the terrorist who carried out the attack was killed".

Residents in parts of West and North Texas continue digging out of a winter storm that dumped more than 10 inches of snow in some locations.

Power outages are likely and air travel will be restricted.

Residents could see 3 to 5 inches of snow from midnight tonight through Sunday night. One tractor trailer ran off a road and into a river, Cooper said.

And just like in North Carolina, roads are still risky in Virginia.

"Be prepared to stay put for a few days when the storm rolls in and the roads become slick", Cooper said.

According to the Charlotte Douglas website, most airlines were planning to resume normal operations by noon today.

Richmond and surrounding areas received around nine inches of snow this week, the National Weather Service in Wakefield, Virginia, reported. "Please stay off the roads", Greenville County Emergency Management urged Monday, according to reports.
