North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has reaffirmed his commitment to the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and vowed efforts to produce good results from his second summit with US President Donald Trump, Chinese media reports said Thursday. The first two summits were not reported until after Kim left China, and the third was disclosed on the second day of his visit.
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said his government is "using various channels" to communicate with North Korea, including over a potential summit with Kim Jong Un.
South Korea's Yonhap, without identifying its sources, said the two leaders held talks for an hour in which they discussed the second US-North Korea summit and strengthening bilateral ties.
Xi agreed with the "principled issues" raised by North Korea in talks with the USA and that its "reasonable points of concern should be resolved properly", according to Pyongyang's official KCNA news agency. "Judging from the delegation lineup, the mission appears to place emphasis on North Korea's continuing diplomatic outreach and nuclear and security issues", Aoki said.
Trump and Kim reached an agreement to work toward the "complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula", during their first meeting in June in Singapore.

Progress has been slow ever since as the North wants sanctions relief, while the United States remains firm that sanctions will remain in place until the North completely gives up its nuclear weapons program.

Fox News, citing unnamed Justice Department officials, also reported the planned departure in weeks. In November, Mr Trump retweeted an image of Mr Rosenstein behind prison bars.
Based on previous trips to China, Kim was expected to visit industrial facilities.
China is Kim Jong-un' major supporter and a principal trade collaborator.
