Israel's state-owned satellite manufacturer Israel Aerospace Industries built the Beresheet lander. Originally the company was started with the aim to win the launched in 2007, the Google Lunar X-Prize - the managed neither you nor the competitors, to the moon, but the Israelis fly now anyway.
The technology created by the engineers is called Beresheet, which means "in the beginning" when translated from Hebrew, the Orlando Sentinel reports. The lander will use a thruster from Norwegian supplier Nammo to reach the moon, and to conduct a 500-meter "hop" to another location on the lunar surface.
A Falcon 9 rocket carrying an Israeli rover is expected to reach the moon sometime in April.
